The pillow spray falls under aromatherapy. The product is also known as “pillow mist” and it is becoming increasingly popular among those who need to relax and sleep well.

How do you make a pillow spray?

You don’t have to go to a health food store to buy a special fragrance. It is possible to use things that you already have at home.

Below is a blend of relaxing scents for our preferred pillow spray. We hope you enjoy smelling it!

What do I need?

  • 1/2 liter of distilled water
  • 1/2 vanilla bean (You can easily find these in stores. They have dark skins and are about 12 centimeters long).
  • The zest of a 1/2 orange
  • 5 drops of essential oils of vanilla and citrus blossom
  • A bottle with a spray cap

How do I make the spray?

  • Bring the 1/2 liter of water to the boil and add the orange zest and vanilla bean.
  • Stir for two minutes during cooking. We are trying to make an infusion that allows all these natural scents to permeate.
  • Let cool and pour into a colander or strainer, leaving only the water and removing the vanilla bean and rind.
  • Once everything is cold, add the essential oils (five drops of each). The vanilla beans can be reused for a new infusion.

We find that the infusion of vanilla and citrus has a refined, floral citrus scent. The stuff is very aromatic and relaxing.

  • Now we pour everything into a bottle with a spray cap. Remember that in order to store it properly, you need to put the spray in the fridge.
  • You can store the product in this way for three weeks. If at a certain point you notice that the smell is no longer so strong, you can always make a new spray.
  • Now spray the pillow spray on your pillow every night before you go to sleep. When you lie down, you will notice how welcoming the scent is. You will sleep better and you will enjoy it!

You can also try other options. For example, try rose, cedar and cinnamon! You can also use these sprays for your entire room.
